These are just ordinary pull-chain switches for controlling a lamp, or fan, or other item. They're simple pull--on/pull off (single-pole) types, but seem sturdy and well-made. The ends of the wires are pre-stripped (just yank off the last bit of black insulation).A chain about 3 inches long is attached to the switch, but I was surprised to find that an extension chain about 14 inches long, with a nice wooden knob at the end, was included with each switch. I wasn't expecting that (I had just planned to use the chain from the switch I was replacing)--but when I looked at the website description again, I saw that the extension chain was indeed mentioned there. (I just wasn't observant enough!)These switches are well-priced, compared with my local home supply/hardware store--especially if you order the two-pack instead of the single switch.
