although this light works well. You need to understand its features. It requires a special light bulb and cannot be used with a dimmer switch. I had to replace it. It does indeed go off and on. But the lightbulb is hard to find and no dimmer switch will work with this light fixture.This was perfect for my rv - we cut out the center to retro fit it over the very ugly 12 V fixture. I just went to order 2 more and they went from $17 to $57 in less than 10 days! What the hell is wrong with you??????? I could understand a few bucks but $40????????????NOT white..... glass as stated.. but plastic ... plastic!!!! very cheap construction bulbs were busted when delivered -very disappointed. would not recommend.Works well. Is somewhat bigger than I expected but that's my fault for not actually measuring it out against our ceiling. It's a definite improvement over our "builders original" bedroom fixture and works well enough that we will probably order a couple more to replace other bedroom/ hall fixtures later this year.Keep away from this crap.1. cheap plastic cover instead of classic glass in the description.2. 23 watt GU24 CFL bulb instead of 26 watt one in the description.3. it claims to be 1600 lumen on the package of the bulb but not much brighter than a 600 lumen LED.4. the seller seems to boast the price high then give a nice discount. Fue muy fácil colocarlas.Description is very wrong - it does NOT come with "classic white glass" but with cheap looking plastic - major deception and not great looking product with the plasticI'd give this light 5 stars if it had glass instead of plastic, but then again it wouldn't be nearly this cheap if it wasn't made of plastic. Otherwise very modern and nice.
