You Belong Under Ceilume We treat the people we interact with (starting with our customers) the way we would like to be treated ourselves. Previous page Manufactured In America How did we get our start? Our company began as Empire West Inc. in 1968, manufacturing custom thermoformed products for the photofinishing, electronics, optics, agriculture, and automotive industries. We always had our eye out for a product we could develop on our own and thermoformed ceiling tiles became that product. What makes our products unique? Ceilume was one of the original producers of specialty ceilings in the Mid-Century era. Our thermoformed ceilings are now attracting renewed interest among designers and building owners looking for alternatives to plain acoustical ceilings. Next page

These are literally the thinnest, cheapest feeling plastic and I was mad when I first took them out of the box because they are pretty expensive. But honestly they look great once installed. The material these is made from was way too thin for my purposes. They’re about the thickness of a molded plastic water bottle, and I suspect even a led puck light would be too much for them to support. They looked nice, but not being sturdy enough to install a can light, coupled with being so light that closing the door caused them to pop out of place was a deal breaker for me. I opted for the Anderson molded ceiling tiles which were about 4-5 times as thick. My install was in a small bathroom, I suppose if you have a large area without a lot of pressure change from air movement they would be okay, just be aware you will need to reinforce any that have anything mounted to/thru them.Super light and thin. Looks good. Would not help with insulation.Love these, they look so good and are lighter than you can ever imagine. Do not buy if you are trying to contain or soundproof a roof. These are less soundproof than traditional foam based tilesCeilume tiles gave me a great result in my 20x30 ft garage, much brighter and cleaner looking than the bare rafters. But recently I replaced my commercial steel rollup door with a conventional garage door, so I need to close up roughly 20ft x 2ft of ceiling at the front of the garage where the rollup door was. I couldn't find the pattern you see in the photo; I am settling for the Stratford pattern.I was worried after reading the reviews but I didn’t have any problems. Since these are so lightweight I just put them WITH my old ceiling tiles. The weight of the old tiles keeps these from jumping or shifting when the door slams. All mine came in perfect condition. To cut them I used a very sharp box cutter and didn’t have any problems. We have a ceiling air vent in one of our tiles. These are not sturdy enough for that so, again, I just left the old sturdy tile and put a new one with a cutout for the vent. I do think they are overpriced but there isn’t really any other choice on the market that I found.issues I have with this product are how cheap it looks and how flimsy it is. ordered new with coupon and received used missing a panel.I bought these for my basement to replace the plain standard ceiling tiles you’d find on the shelf at any big box home improvement store. These tiles are super lightweight; this made them very easy to cut to accommodate can lights, furnace registers, and ends of rows that aren’t full 2x2 squares. However, because they are so lightweight, they are pretty flimsy — as in, they don’t even want to drop down in the grid uniformly. I ended up sliding these up under my old tiles so that the old tiles would provide some weight. They look okay. They are definitely an improvement to the plain “acoustic” tiles, but I would have liked just a bit more heft.
